Fees and Rebates
Session length
Each session is approximately 50 minutes in duration.
Session cost
The rate for a psychologist by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) is $300 for a (46-60 minute consultation), however, we keep our fees well below that to ensure mental health services are more broadly available.
As such, we charge $200 per session for privately paying clients. The Medicare rebate is $93.35, which means the gap payment for you is $106.65
All other fees are charged as set by the paying organisation, e.g. NDIS, DVA and WCQ.
We acknowledge that unexpected life events may interfere with your ability to attend your appointment. Unfortunately last minute cancellations or non-attendance may result in another client missing an opportunity for timely treatment. We have developed a cancellation policy with this in mind.
Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will not incur any fee.
Non-attendance or cancellation at short notice (under 24 hours) may incur a cancellation fee of $50. Unfortunately cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebate.
Medicare Rebates
If your GP has given you a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you are eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions in each calendar year.

Department of Veterans' Affairs
Tulip Psychology is a registered provider for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), with automatic processing of claims. Just present your DVA card at your initial session, with a GP referral.

National Disability Insurance Scheme
Tulip psychologists provide services to clients who are either self-managed or plan-managed with NDIS.
Private Health Insurance
Most health funds provide rebates for psychology sessions, although it depends on your level of cover of course. Please contact your fund to check eligibility.
